On September 30, 2005 Universal Studios released 'Serenity', a feature film based on Joss Whedon's short-lived TV series 'Firefly' which was broadcast on FOX during the 2002-03 season. 13 episodes were produced for the series, but only 12 were actually broadcast. FOX also made the mistake of broadcasting several episodes out of order, including the 2 hour pilot which was broadcast as the series finale when FOX pulled the plug. The feature film gave the series enough closure, but I'm hoping Joss will be getting back into writing, directing, and producing original projects now that his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe(MCU) is behind him. Great to see that Nathan Fillion(Captain Malcom Reynolds) has managed to find further success in the ABC series 'Castle' which is another great show, BTW. Well, that's about it for this blog.
