Will the Real Captain America Please Stand Up?

Looks like a Marvel edition of the old 'To Tell the Truth' TV series. 'Nuff said, true believers.

The Muppets On ABC

Not superhero or Sci-Fi related, but this begs to be posted. I watched the premiere of The ABC's The Muppets and liked it. It's about time that these iconic characters "grew up" as those of us who were kids in the 1970's did. Jim Henson once said that he never really intended for his creations to be "kid friendly" with the exception for the characters which were created for Sesame Street and maybe Fraggle Rock. Might be a good idea for ABC to consider moving The Muppets to a later time slot on their schedule. Thinking 9 or 9:30PM perhaps and/or post a viewer discretion warning at the beginning of each episode. Just a thought. Anyway, I hope this show sticks around for a while.

Kara Thrace's Farting Viper

Damn dude, I hate when that happens.

SyFy Filming Zombies In Bremerton, Washington

Looks like Thursday and Friday(September 24 & 25) will be fun times here in good old Bremerton. The notice in the photo says it all. If they want zombies, just hang out at any Kitsap County bar during last call.

RIP, Actor Jack Larson

RIP, Jack Larson. He was the first actor to portray Daily Planet photographer and cub reporter Jimmy Olson in the 1950's syndicated 'Adventures Of Superman' TV series. He was 87. Condolences go out to his family and fans.

Whatever Happened To Lt. Starbuck?

Looks like Starbuck has managed to do well for himself in the yarhens after crash landing on that planet in Galactica 1980's final episode 'Return Of Starbuck'.

Gotham Rise Of the Villains and Suicide Squad

After watching tonight's season premiere of Gotham I'm wondering if there will be some sort of connection to the new season and the upcoming Suicide Squad movie despite Warner Brother's policy of keeping the DC related shows and movies separate, unless that only applies to Arrow, The Flash, and CBS' Supergirl. Tonight's episode of Gotham involved a group of inmates(including the future Joker) escaping from the Arkham asylum. This is just speculation on my part.

CBS' Supergirl

Really looking forward to seeing Melissa Boist take flight in the new CBS series 'Supergirl'.  I have a crush on this young lady already. From what I've seen, the series looks like it'll be a good one. Hoping to see possible crossover episodes between Supergirl, The Flash, and Arrow since they're produced by WB and are set during the same timeframe despite The Flash and Arrow being on The CW. Would also like to see Tom Welling show up as Superman and/or Clark Kent in at least one episode, but I'm not holding my breath. Guess we'll see what happens.

Thursday, September 17, 2015

On September 17, 1978, the original Battlestar Galactica premiered as a three hour edition of the ABC Sunday Night Movie. The broadcast was delayed by a half hour on the west coast for an ABC News Special Report involving the signing of the peace accord between Israel and Egypt. I remember my brother and I begging our parents to let us stay up past our bedtimes so we could watch the entire broadcast. John(my brother) saw the crappy edited feature film when he was in Canada with a buddy of his and his buddy's parents in the summer of 1978. As a kid, I had the entire run of the Marvel Comics series, and several of the Mattel toys including the missile firing colonial viper and cylon raider. I still have a few of the novelizations of the TV episodes and the photonovel. This and The Six Million Dollar Man were two shows of the 1970's which have had a big impact on my life. That's about it for now. As always, have a good one and behave yourselves. Thanks for reading.

Darth Vader's First Appearence

People who say stormtroopers are piss poor shots must have forgotten about this business.
Welcome to my first blog. Let me take time to introduce myself. I'm Kevin K. Nelson. I was born in Yakima, Washington. I grew up in and graduated from high school in Poulsbo, Washington. I'm currently living in Bremerton, Washington. I was born on October 5, 1966. Now that we've gotten the brief intro out of the way, I'd like to take time to go into what this blog is all about. I'm what people would consider a fanboy. I'm into science fiction, comics, and toy collecting. Oh yeah, and I'm a Seattle Seahawks fan. This is where I'll be giving my opinions about sci-fi and comic book related movies and TV shows(past and present) as well as what's going on with the action figure and toy biz. You can sort of consider me as the Andy Rooney of geekdom. Anyway, Next month CBS will be premiering the new Supergirl TV series and from what I've seen it looks promising. The woman playing her has recently been compaired to the late Christopher Reeve. Man, to be compaired to that guy is a pretty damn big compliment. What else is going on? Oh yeah, Force Friday has come and gone. Went to the local Wal-Mart to check things out in the ol' toy department. There's a few of the figures I'm interested in, but I'm probably gonna wait a bit to buy them. I've seen comments from several of my fellow SW fans who are bitching about the lack of articulation on the 3 3/4 scale figures. As far as I'm concerned, I think it's cool that Hasbro is kind of going full circle on these figures. They take me back to the days of the original Kenner figures from the 1970's and 1980's. I kind of have a soft spot for the current ReAction figures that Funko Toys are putting out. Haven't picked up any of those yet, but I plan on doing so soon. Anyway, I think I'm gonna cut this short. Until next time, thanks for taking the time to read my BS and behave yourselves. 'Later.
